Lavender known for its aromatic soothing fragrance is very much a high yielding crop. What one could hardly believe, is its presence in India. Villages in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir are trying their luck with these beautiful flowers . It is a known fact that these farmers have ditched maize for this beautiful purple flower. Government of India has come up with special schemes to encourage this aromatic cultivation .
